Why is Duplicolor Engine Enamel 500º paint? Don't you have to use 1200º paint for valve covers? I realize they have that ("High Heat Paint") but why is what they call "Engine Enamel" 500º?

It is interesting that you mention the primer/clear coat, b/c the Duplicolor can instructions do not even mention using a primer before painting or a clear coat...just a lot of cleaning prep. But I'm sure priming and/or clear coat makes for an even better job. |
