Ok, so here is whats up. I am looking to get a new motor in my celica and heard that advance auto has refuerb motors for like 500 bucks. So i was tryin to put the GT 2.2 and swap out the tranny while im at it and convert it to a 5 speed. Good idea, bad idea, reccomendations? And im tryin to keep it under around 10k. Im pretty much just lookin for more power out of my celica.

Um, I think I have a better idea, and I'm not trying to under cut you Manny...but IF you are trying to stay under $10K, and you will be happy with GT power, then just sell your ST and find a GT with decent mileage!  Most used GTs are WAY under $10K, unless it is a 98, 98 Convertible with low to medium mileage.
