I'm so freakin' mad right now!

So I'm merging onto a freeway and accelerating as usual...as soon as I hit ~50...BAM! My (carbon fiber) hood flies open and slams into my windshield! Good thing I was still in the merging lane and not yet going that fast, so I pull over to the breakdown lane quick. I get out and check wtf went wrong and low and behold, the pins to my car are cut. GDAMN HIPPIES!!! This will be the 3rd potentially fatal incident I've had in the last 3 weeks since coming up to San Francisco (check other thread on vandalism for the other two).

FFS, I'm getting pretty tired of all this crap that I have to deal with. So what if my car stands out? So what if I blast my music a little loud? WTF is with all this hating going on? ARGHHH!!!!

Luckily I always choose a low deductible on my insurance...so they'll help cover the cost to replace my windshield and hood (yeah, it got F'ed up too) and fix my roof.

But I'm beginning to think maybe I should just park my Celi in a garage for a couple of months...just until things die down a bit.

*sigh*...just a few days ago I was thinking about fixing up all the dings/dents and scratches. But what's the point in making her look perfect when the same old $#!t keeps happening...

my daily driver celica. about 1 month ago

driving to work.. stuck behind a corolla. 45mph on a 50 speed limit. capow my invader hood flies the eff off, broke my windshield, damaged my roof, tore up fenders, of course hood is damaged without hopes of repair. So for 1 month now I been driving that thing to work with 100 ft yellow home depot rope and I will continue do so for as long as my other celica is stuck in between shops. I feel your pain man. my hood is no longer attached to the car. every single bracket has been ripped off and mind not at the carbon fibre hood connection but metal itself and the brackets and well basically without rope my hood would not stay on the car.

I have replaced a windshield for 208 bucks but I am not going to spend money fixing other stuff since car is going up on ebay anyways as a parts car.

My only regret is that I had this hood on 2 celicas, it lasted me for ohh I duno like 4 years and then kapow just when i was going to use it for my latest and hopefully final final celica it went airborne. It was scary. Imagine me driving with blood shut eyes and peeking out of quarter inch of eyelid surface that was pried forced to stay open after a wild night the night before... and hawoosh.. all I saw was a black shade. I thought that a low flying plane was on top of me.. I noticed that hood was missing cause my windshield was no longer a solid chunk of glass. it was all covered in creaking spider nets. Fun times.. fun times.
