 Tread wear ratings |

Is it true that you really cant compare tread wear ratings from one brand of tire to the next? My current tire has a 400 tread and lasted me exactly 2yrs of boosted fun, with pretty good traction. For my next set im thinking of picking up a set of Nitto NeoGens. Problem is that they are only rated at 280 tread, and Im worried i wont be able to get at least 2yrs out of them. They seem to be getting rave reviews, despite the low wear rating.

These same tires would probably last 40k on an ST without a problem. Once you turbo, 20k life is considered excellent.
