Is it true that you really cant compare tread wear ratings from one brand of tire to the next? My current tire has a 400 tread and lasted me exactly 2yrs of boosted fun, with pretty good traction. For my next set im thinking of picking up a set of Nitto NeoGens. Problem is that they are only rated at 280 tread, and Im worried i wont be able to get at least 2yrs out of them. They seem to be getting rave reviews, despite the low wear rating.

kumho ASX tires are pretty much bottom-end tires. the nittos are still pretty cheap though. We don't sell a lot of nitto tires at my work so I'm not very familiar with them, but nobody really has anything good to say about kumho tires at all.
I got some yokohama AVS ES100's for free. they had about 4-5/32" on all of them when I got them. and within about 2 weeks, the front left tire had about 2/32". I rotated them back to front, and after only a few more weeks, now the the one I put on the left front has about 2/32" as well. boost is the destroyer of tires! lol. I'm gonna flip the tires so I can put the best tires on the left side now, hopefully that'll get me another 3-6 weeks of tire life before they're all at 2/32", hopefully giving me enough time to save up for wheels and tires. -------------------- ![]() 94 GT - Sold -------- 69 Pontiac Lemans - Sold 88 Alltrac - Sold ---- 04 WRX - Sold 00 GT-S - Sold ------ 91 Miata - project/drift car 95 GT - Sold -------- 96 GT - New Daily Drive |
