the car has been driving really well and then my dad borrowed it for a day and came back saying he reckons the clutch is slipping - I told him to poke it but when I drove it it did seem to have an issue.!
Basically when in second or third if you put your foot down the revs climb to 4k and then sharply climb with no additional acceleration, just lots of engine noise. Is this clutch slip? Or is it something else? Can it be tensioned/pressure increased to reduce slip? Either way I have not noticed it before! If it is the clutch I presume it needs replacing and therefore my next question is - is it an engine out job? Or can you just jack it up and remove it from underneath? And is it an averagely mechanically minded individual? The car is a 94 GT St202! Any pics would be marvellous! Sorry for all the questions -------------------- ![]() |

Thanks - Is there a photo how to somewhere? Ive got the celica manual on my computer but images always help!
Ive watched that video which is good for the actual swap of the clutch but I need to know how to access the clutch itself i.e. removing axles etc? Anyone got any links to threads or webpages? -------------------- ![]() |
