Hi i just join the forum last night and i been doing research on the forums and the internet on motor swaps for the 6g Celica new to the Toyota scene i have a 94 st with about 220xxx picked it up about 3 months ago at 215xxx miles i would like to do a motor swap into this car but i would like to have more power than the 1.8L and i was thinking about the 2.2L but I'm not sure how hard it would be to do the swap and how much it would cost but also i would like to know which is the best motor for my car or what is the best way to deal with this
Thank You For Your Time

well first no matter what you do your going to need at least 4,000 or 5,000 (if you do it yourself)for an engine swap. the 2.2 is a S series engine and the 1.8 is a A series engine. thus making it tricky to swap, what i mean by that is not that its not possible, just tricky. there are a lot of people that have put the S series engine in A series cars on here and can give you a lot of good info. Other options would be the Silver Top and the Black Top 4A-GE , both are A series engines and would be a lot easier to drop in your car, but they dont offer much more HP. you could also do a Hybrid by placing a G series head on your A series bottom, allowing you a lot of HP possibilities. I wouldnt go with the 2.2 mostly because when you start throwing HP into it it really doesnt have the stability to handle much more the naturally aspirated. Its possible, but not really worth the work in my opinion.

There is a lot of information that go along with all these options. you just need to research, and this is a very good place to get that information, check out the Search tool and look around. What Tony posted will show some great stuff.
