Pathetic Options

Im pathetic. I got a 2008 VW GTI in September of 07 because the Celica was just requiring too much TLC that I could not offer it. Well the odometer reached 11,000 miles yesterday on the GTI (its 6 month anniversary) and then today I see a pic of my celica on a guys Myspace and I started tearing up. I miss it so much! I dont get the same looks or compliments that I did with the celica.

I feel stupid for missing an 14 year old car but it was amazing and beautiful. I feel like I gave up a kid for adoption.

yea but natalie, it sounds like your having second thoughts about ur brand new car... i mean one doesn't spend a large amount of money on a new car just to pick their second choice. u make it sound like u didn't have a lot to choose from with 26k..... plus when u got it, u didn't sound displeased about your choice:

Someoen suggested at work I take a look at the VW's and once I drove the GTI that was it. I was hooked! Im hoping to sell the Celica to a local 5th gen celica owner

I didnt buy it for performance. I bought it mainly because I liked it and it was a nice car to drive. I wont be modding it anywhere near as what I did for the Celica. I will just tint and exhaust.

so yea im just confused as to why now you are saying "the gti wasnt what i really wanted"

if u didn't buy it for performance, and im pretty sure u didn't buy it for looks, why care how many people compliment you?

im just saying, dont beat urself over the head about getting rid of the celica. just be glad it went to a good place. maybe u can buy it back later. i dont think you're pathetic, just experiencing a wave of nostalgia that will always come and go.....

I will admit that I didnt take the time to wander over to the Subaru dealership and look but I was limited to that one dealership that I went to because we went to 3 before and none would take me cuz of my bad credit. This dealership I ended up with only took me cuz we had a connection there and they made it work. Out of all the VW's I could have picked Im happy. I do wish I went back and looked at Subarus though.

Its not just the car Im not happy about I think its the group of people who own the GTI's that are making it harder for me to not love the car. I think alot of you know I was very active in the Toyota groups in the Northwest. I get a GTI and try to get involved but the people are way different and so now im just left being a car owner who drives from point a to point z.
