So when people compete on sound systems they measure the decibal (DB) level of the car to determine the winner. This got me thinking...

When they measure the DB in contest how exactly do they do it? is it just with a microphone in 1 place or a couple in 2 or 3 places in the car?

Has anybody here tested their system to see what kinda numbers they have gotten? if so where and how?

well i do competitions with my car and with 2 12's and 1200 watts i was doing a 145db at the head rest

most competittions use only one mic and it depends on the mic as to if it is a actually mic or a sensor, also the defferent orginizations have deff mic placements in the car some do it at the dash or in the kick or at the head rest or even some have a class for db reading in the port and then again some do it from a few feet away from the car it all depends
