I bought my Celica St as a automatic i have the fund to convert it to manual but i have read many articles of boosting automatics and not loosing any performance at all any input to help me make my decision would be great

i think you should leave it be till you find a GT in your price range. spending money making an ST fast isint too logical for someone who needs to ask a question like this. save up, get a better car someday that has the performance you do want. need to remember how old these cars are.
im with lagos on this one. on a muscle car with proper modifications an "auto" trans is prolly faster straight line than a "street" manual setup. i say that loosely as it can be proven wrong very very easily. manual transmissions are much more performance efficient. however... boost+AC+cruise control+auto would make for a descent long trip car. -------------------- you know why they put sheep at the edge of a cliff.... that way they push back!
