best radar detectors for the price?

i HAD a cobra and it did me well--I made it from Windsor, Ontario to Montreal, QC within 9 hours through rain + sun. then one day (when i came back) a cop decided to do a search and got lucky and reached his arm in and found it in my glove compartment (which he didn't have a warrant to search my car) but i got lucky as he took it away but didn't give me a ticket at all.
But i'm planning on getting valentine one next, and get the custom concealed display where i can mount right on my gauge cluster. |

(not saying you should though) I know I could've reported him however, i don't think i would've gotten my detector back because it's illegal to own one in the first place. so i figured it would've costed more money to hire a lawyer and such and go through the trouble of everything. Besides he let me off a 400 dollar ticket, and i only paid 150 for the scanner, oh well. But yes, i figured he totally jacked my detector and probably sold it back out on ebay or something. |
