 rebuilding the 7A soon, Oil burning, higher CR and MPG |

So its time to rebuild one of my 7AFEs because of the all too common oil burning issue, and early signs of rod knock.
SO i want to go fuel economy way since its my DD. so would after market pistons cams and rods get worse MPG? i am at the same problem's with my 7afe and i am about to rebuild it for my soon to be wifes DD any ideas for a reliable good MPG DD?
