has anyone replaced the package tray (tonneau cover) with a clear cover? i am installing a sub box + amp and would like to show it off. can you just have a plexi cover cut to fit or are there too many odd angles and measurements to take into consideration. should i just get rid of it? will there be too much road noise? what about esthetics. does it look neglected it there is no cover?
tips, hints and mostly opinions are welcome. peace r. -------------------- ![]() |

full agreement on the thieves thing!!! people always comment on how clean my car is, and i always tell them it's a precaution.
but it does sound like a cool mod. so if you're all about the show car, i'd cut sections out of the original, keeping the frame and maybe a 6 inch strip down the middle. then bolt a sheet of plexi-glass to the bottom of it, or maybe even a stainless steel mesh. sorta like this: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/6214/ele...CR-XP00618.html but, y'know, when i was looking for that i found some 2-way mirror panels on the same site. and if you do that, then get lights, the sub-thieves will hopefully not be able to see it when the lights are off. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/5295/win...CR-AP32042.html |
