QUOTE(mr-belowaverage @ Mar 20, 2008 - 4:01 PM) I asked the same question and ended up deciding on an Exedy OEM clutch. I'm putting it in this weekend, so I'll let you know what I think. I've never felt this thing with a new clutch in it! I considered Exedy Stage 1 or ACT SM00 (I think) basically their stage 1. For the added cost, I couldn't justify it. Unless you're making 250HP crank, I can't see the need for it. As revski says, you'll end up with wheel hop when your wheel-to-road torque capacity is less than your clutch disc's. What engine do you have? I have the 3SGE and Exedy don't make a clutch for this engine! Although Ebay will tell you different - DON'T get a clutch of Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!! -------------------- ![]() |

Although Ebay will tell you different - DON'T get a clutch of Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 7afe, but I'm pretty sure Exedy makes all the OE celica clutches. Also, most of the 4 cylinder clutches are exactly the same part. Exedy KTY18 I think is the part number for the 1.8L engines, and KTY11 for the 2.0L engines. For Stage 1 products, part 16800 fits the 1.8L engines, and 16803 fits the 2.0L engines, including the 3sge. |
