 what do you guys know about newport news?, good place to be? |

hey guys/gals. i was wondering what some of you all know about newport news VA. my gf is going to possibly be taking a job with Lockheed Martin and wants me to move with her.
To be honest i dislike virginia with a passion (no offense to the natives) and i am already quite content in charlotte nc. I also heard of newport news being nicknamed "bad news" can anybody give me their personal opinion? i live in newport news. it's not so bad, but it definately has its downsides. the economy is slightly better than charlotte and things are a bit cheaper. if she's working for LM, why not move to yorktown??
