hi all. i just got an external hard drive for my lappy that i want to use as a back up drive. when i got the lappy the hard drive already had about 1/4th of it partitioned off as a backup. how do i un partition this and back up all the info to the external?
just incase anyone is wondering, i use windows XP and i have an HP Pavilion dv2000 and the external i got is a Western Digital 120 GB portable HD.
any help is appreciated

the 1/4 partition stores your windows CD.

So if you unpartition the hard drive you will no longer have your window cd to install a fresh copy onto computer.

Also unpartitioning and making one big partition is a tricky task, there is no 100% way of doing it right. Some times it just wont work and corrupt your entire partition.
