I'm going with a 5sfe build and I need to find a good set of Forged Pistons to handle (high rpms...moderately speaking). What's out there? Anyone with a set they got and the pistons have proven themselves??

I've been researching this for the last month or so straight. It looks like JE would be the best bet with Wiseco in a close second. Both are relatively the same price ($700 for forged pistons/peened rods). Do you plan on putting a turbo on eventually?

I'm interested in what others have to say as I plan on putting a turbo on as soon as the engine is broken in.

I've been contemplating the idea of modifying with a turbo, but honestly I am very skeptical of the whole idea cause of past issues I've had...Maybe after I put on 30K on the rebuild, I'll look more into it. BLCKCELICA95 did the turbo on his so I gotta check that out when time's available (if that's ok Blckcelica95). Other than that, I'm going to do the port/polish on the head, shave the head a bit, put those forged pistons in, add a set of "colt cams" with minor fuel man. upgrades and go from there.

I just want to be able to bring the car up to 6500 rpm on a frequent basis without hurting the internals...if they're forged, than it shouldn't be a prob.

I think I read somewhere that the stock crank for our celicas is already forged. That's cool.
