hi guys i a 5sfte with a ct-26 turbo and the turbo doesnt spool up at all from idle to max rpm it seems to be leaking oil on the compressor side and i have tried messing with the wastegate to see if it was stuck and it moves manualy and still no boost

i think thats what messed up your turbo in the first place, not having the intercooler pipes. you cant booost with out an intercooler, you cant just either put the intercooler pipe and just start boosting you need to tune the car also.pictures will help alot, and some info on your turbo setup to.

In my experience you can run the turbo without an intercooler, but run the very high risk of detonation/lean mixture. (combine this with a ceased wastegate = pistons that look like swiss cheese/broken ring glands) Either way this would damage the engine more so than the turbo. If anything would lead to the shaft destruction, obviously lack of oil. If that wasn't the case, then physics would lead me to believe lack of a bov would be a much more likely culprit than lack of an intercooler. -Terra This post has been edited by Terracar: Apr 7, 2008 - 7:48 AM -------------------- '92 ST185, '88 ST165, '05 Galant LS, '08 Legacy
