so ive been looking around and cant settle on the turbo that would be best for my car. i have to replace or rebuild the ct26 in my car and dont know what way to go for one. i am not looking to make much power and want only 8-10psi of boost. anybody got any suggestions on what turbo would be best. i think right now im looking at turbonetics T3 or the hybrid T3/T4

Actually that sounds about right - between $350-$500 is good-normal. Anything more and you might as well get a CT-27 from ATS.
Pressure - When I get my CT-27 will I need to retune or will the ECU [as I'm thinking] base the timing and fuel maps based on the pressure it reads from the MAP?

yes, you will need to adjust your fuel maps.


Sh*t. So 3S-GTE owners running stock ECU can't make use of this upgrade without getting at least a piggyback? SAFC-II should be sufficient tho right?

ohh, no, sorry, i was talking 5sfte terms. lol
the 3s uses the map sensor for fuel cut only. (it also feeds the stock boost gauge (in an mr2 or celica.)
no need for fuel tuning with the '27 on the 3s, although there are gains to be had with tuning.
