 Trunk Hatch, Can't get my trunk to release |

So the other day I went to pop my hatch and the trunk wouldn't open. I pull the trunk release and it's like it's already release but the trunk doesn't open and it doesn't release.. I tried the key in the back and same story.. I don't have a clue on how to get my trunk open or how to get this fixed.. Any ideas would be much appreciated...
I can pull the release and I can hear the cord moving all the way to the back but it just won't release.. --------------------  |

did you try opening the trunk with the key? Hold the key all the way and pull open the trunk. This happens on my celica.
