![]() So I lowered my car on Monday with Lesjofors 40mm springs, KYB Excel-G shocks took the opportunity to upgrade to a set of Superflex bushes and oh wow! The drop is visually more than I was expecting. When I first saw how low it was, I was concerned that the ride would be too hard for the crappy UK roads. It is hard, but not too hard. I am hoping it might get just a little softter as things settle down. We have some of these horrid aggressive speed bumps on the entry road to the business park where I work: ![]() ...I have to take those very slow but the car does clear them as well as the cunningly designed flat-top hump on the same road (the combined width of the top and tapered sides is slightly less than the distance between the front and rear wheels, the height matches the footpath height). My car used to go around corners asif it was on rails - the way it just stuck to the road. But now when you turn the wheel, it feels asif the car goes diagonally rather than turn into the corner - there is so little body roll. The other great thing is that when I floor it, the front of the car doesn't lift so traction is maintained. I am thoroughly enjoying the improved handling - it really does feel like a different car. In particular, it feels more powerful (yea I know that is psychological). I think this gets joint first place for my best mod (shared with my LPG conversion). So in summary, if your Celica still looks like a skateboard then do the drop as your very next mod. It will improve the car's stance but more importantly it will dramatically increase the driving fun factor and put an even bigger smile on your face when you are behind the wheel. -------------------- Davey

what does skateboards have to do with anything? if your Celica still looks like a skateboard Perhaps it doesn't translate across the pond but in the UK people frequently describe cars with huge gaps between the top of the wheel and the fender as looking like skateboards or roller skates. I think this is particularly true of the ST and the cabriolet when on factory suspension. This post has been edited by BloodyStupidDavey: May 17, 2008 - 9:41 AM -------------------- Davey
