mushroom filter, how to mainteance it? Options

this is the filter i just bought for my celi, do you have to oil it like a regular cone filter? or just put it on and rinse the sponge all the time. also is there a place where i can a new sponge for it when it goes bad. any information on this product would be great. thanks.

These are throw away if I recall (good luck removing all the dirt that gets trapped inside..and the dust that also goes into the engine.

x2 - it's been well proven but still some people prefer the look so they still sell well. I had heard they have improved the filtration since that study tho.
Luckily for me the Apex'I one both matches the look I'm going for and provides the best balance of gains/maintenance and most importantly filtration.
