im thinking of going with at&t now just for the iphone. i have a hacked ipod and i love it but not having the internet all the time and having to carry two units around sucks. ipod and a phone. so if i had one unit to carry and it always had the internet and navi and all the hacked crap i have on my ipod id love it. hmm. the iphone is basicaly open source, you dont get that with other phones right? and its apple, i dont care for pc based anything like pda's and stuff. just not what im familiar with. If your going to do that - wait for the new iPhone. People close to the project say next month when the new 2.0 firmware comes out. At that time now only will the new phone come out, allllll the first gen iPhones will be for sale cheap, and they will get the new firmware also, sans 3G & GPS. The crappy thing is there will be no apps for a little bit, even though 2.0 came with an SDK - it's not exactly "open source." The 2.0 firmware will allow apps, but they need to be pre-approved by Apple and follow certain rules, which makes all the cool apps, like SummerBoard; "illegal." I just jailbroke my phone last week for the first time, and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. This post has been edited by Supersprynt: May 23, 2008 - 12:20 AM -------------------- |
