 3sgte swap tranny options in a ST |

Is there any auto tranny that will work with a stock 3sgte and what mods would i need to do to get it to work with a 97 ST..... I know that it would be best that i do the manual swap but I want to do auto for now its my girls car now she is afraid of stick.....

Unless you have an A140E built for the power by someone like IPT, it's not worth the hassle especially considering that a built trans from them is about $2500.
My auto 3SGTE lasted about a year and then second gear was gone. I drove it a while longer after that and it finally just gave out. There was some custom work that had to be done such as having the 5S flexplate machined to match the 3S crank's bolt configuration, the 3S flywheel bolts had to be shortened, and then the wiring harness had to support two computers, one for the 3S and one for the A140E. Unless you have a ton of money to throw at this project I'd suggest thinking about other options. --------------------  Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |
