it's not too difficult use these steps

1. like he said get a gear puller from auto zone, they sell it to you used and after your finished you can return it for what you paid for it, iguess it's sorta renting it.

2. remove passenger side tire.

3. remove all the plastic housings underneath to gain access to the pully.

4. loosen belts. ie alternator a/c and remove them from around the pully.

5. the car i did had a bolt that held the pully on if you have an impact it's no problem, i put the car in gear to keep the engine from rollin easy and then used a ratchet and hammer to break it free.

6. use the gear puller to pop it off and put on the new one.

7. work your way backwards to put it all back together.

note: i'm going by what i did to change the timing belt on a tercel i used to own, hope it helps. also depending on your milage you may consider changing the timing belt while your at it. if the 5s is anything like the 7a maybe not. it's real b***h changing those. Anyway best of luck
