I am having some crazy problems with my 1994 Celica GT. I think the best thing is to simply tell a short story about the issue. Basically, my wife drove the Celica to work the other day and when she arrived and turned the car off, the doors would not unlock by pressing the unlock/lock switch, by using the remote, and the switches/locks wouldn't budge when she tried to manually 'flip' them. The car would also not start. Luckily, she is tiny and was able to lower the backseat, pop the trunk, and climb out of the trunk!!! She then had to unlock the car with the key from the outside of the car. Everything was fine again, but just today it happened again! Anyone have any idea what this could be about and how to fix it? Toyota had no idea. The factory alarm possibly? Please HELP!

hmm, ok so does it make a sound/attempt to unlock electricly via the lock/unlock button, or no sound at all? the part that does not make much sence is not being able to switch it manualy. unless the lock is jamed or something but then it would not work from the key outside either.

kinda sounds like someone tried to steal it and busted the lock with the slim jim and messed with the ignition. try poping the door panel off and check the metel rod that connects the lock "flip" switch with the lock itself, and then drop down the driver side knee panels (there are 2 the black plastic and a fiber looking one and check the ignition wires, ensure there all connected solid and not cut etc. Does the alarm work (factory alarm honks when its set right?) check to see if its still working (make it go off by setting it and opening the door.) but that would not prevent you from being able to manualy unlock the car via the "flip" switch.
