Whenever I unplug this, my car does not start. The battery will come on, but not turn over. I guess it's some kind of security thing that was installed on my car. Does anyone else have it..? Or could someone tell me exactly what it is called?

You unplug it when you leave the car, and plug it back in when you come back. It's just another step in the lock/unlock routine. It needs to be plugged in for the car to run. My friend with his Sentra didn't even know he had this until his car shut down on him while driving. After he towed it home we found it under his dash.
