hey guys. i measured the stock rims and they are actually 16 inches in diameter. whats up with that?i wondered why my aftermarket 17s didnt look much bigger then realized its only 1 inch bigger.

look at the tire size

look at the tire size 205/55/15 ![]() i know but why is it 16 when measured? is that just the way it is? When you measure the diameter as you did, you are measuring the diameter of the lip of the rim. The true diameter is the area that the tire is affixed to. The lip is approximately 1/2" so it results in an overall 1" added to what is considered the true diameter. -------------------- |
