The 2nd Gen iPhone has just been announced! It will have 3G and GPS and guess what? $200!!!!!
The 8gig will be $200, the 16gig will be $300! Amazing prices! Moments ago at WWDC:

As a product designer myself, i acknowledge some of the good design from apple, but there are a lot of things that i would improve.
little things like: that will not stand up on it's edge for taking timed photo's (which it probably can't do anyway) or just to sit on a surface so you can watch a movie without holding it. -------------------- |
