common problem on the 3sge, the oil level sensor usually fails and is around £100 from mrT

you can bypass it by connecting the two wires that go to the sensor together

iirc jdm's dont have this warning light anyway

Woah - this is an incredibly bad idea. Obviously oil is very critical to your engine's life expectancy. If I were you I would first buy an aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauge for under $20 and hook it up and see if your oil pressure is normal. If so get another new OEM sensor and hook it up. If not and it looks like your sender is reporting that you do indeed have a low oil pressure then you need to take steps to remedy this problem.
Driving around with low oil pressure is a quick way to kill your new engine. Man I can't believe someone on here would give advice like that. mad.gif

I think somone knocked the connector off the sensor.

Also check this as bccentaur said - it is very easy and very common for this to happen. Happened to me on water temp recently.

Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.
Slow down Paul Walker.
