I have noisy rear calipers. They seem to be loose and the brake pads rattle on curtain bumps. I have replaced everything possible I think?
The things I've replaced - struts, springs, strut mounts, sway bar linkage, sway bar bushings, (all this was before figuring out that it was the calipers rattling) And then the brake pads, calipers bolts, caliper sliders, and after all that I changed the calipers themselves and still the rattle. I was just hoping maybe someone would know what it could be other than what I listed if so it would be much appreciated. |

Chances are then, that your rotors are not in place like they should be. It could also be an issue of your emergency brake componets.
Jack up the rear Take off one of the tire on one side Release the emergency (Hand) break Return to the rear of the car, pull off that Rotor & Caliper, and ensure everything is placed properly; restore the rotor and caliper with hand break still down Put break back on to replace tire. Make sure you put those rotors on Tightly! EDIT: i say this because your e-break works like drum breaks (basicly) and with the hand break disengauged then it'll be easeier to put them on and off (free-flowing actualy) and allow you to ensure everything is at a proper fit. While the rotor is off, you can ensure that everything is where it should be. ![]() (Sorry for this crappy pic) ![]() thats what you want to expose, make sure everything is working properly. Good luck. This post has been edited by D-Man: Jun 23, 2008 - 4:53 PM -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive.
