this might be a really stupid question, idk
![]() ok i kno very little about electrical and wiring, but i know that when i plug in my radar detector to the cig lighter, it blows the fuse and my radio, clock and cig lighter doesnt work ![]() |

If you can detach the cord from the detector try plugging it in by itself. If the fuse still blows the cord has a short. Odds are there is a problem with either the cord or the detector itself, they don't use much power.

check the plug on the detector mine was shorting inside caused by the wires being pulled and or stretched just redid the wires and was ok you might have same problem thats if yours isnt a sealed plug
