I went and ordered the 294s setup for my cams. Paid little over 700 bucks with shipping. The guy said I didn't need stiffer springs but I think I do. Any comments on that? Also, I (shop did it) went and ported and polished my cyl-head both in the combustion chamber and exhaust side. I bought a new exhaust mani and ported it too. I did buy a SAFC II but haven't installed it yet. I also will be picking up a hi-flow cat from my brother soon. I already have a SRI and Performance Muffler.

Should I get a metal head gasket for the cyl head install? Does it matter for my setup? What should I do after the cams are bolted in? The SAFC should take care of the tune right? Is there anything else I should've done or should do still?

You obviously don't need to take out the head to do the cams but if you do for whatever else there is no excuse not to put an MHG back. There is a reason why Toyota switched to MHG's on the 5S from stock [besides common sense that is] and with today's price you'd be fool not to.

Presure - How much time does Batman spend at 7K RPMs? If our OP here is prone to bounce off the Rev limiter [especially in first where the most back resistance is shoved back up the drivetrain - yeah I know - not so much the cams - but by transfer through the Tbelt there is at least some increased resistance] it might be a good idea to go with stronger springs. Can 5s's go shimless buckets too?
OP - I don't think with my wallet I think with the mindset "Only the absolute best parts for my Celica" - so you might want to keep my comments in perspective wink.gif
