What is considered 6th Gen related?

Obviously OEM 6th Gen parts are, but what about things that can be used on a 6th Gen?
Is a universal O2 sensor related? It can be used on one.
What about a case of Royal Purple engine oil?

How about a Mustang 70mm TB?
It's not for a 6th Gen at all, but it can be used on an aftermarket sidefeed manifold for a 3SGTE swap...

The reason I'm asking isn't to be facetious, I would like this seriously considered because I would like to put some tools up FS here. I originally put them in OT [I thought it belonged there, my fault], but they apparently don't belong there.
They aren't directly for a 6th Gen, but are definitely usable on one.
Tools in question.

Your thoughts on this are welcome; I would like to sort this out. smile.gif

Nope.

The point is where do we draw the line if you allow tools in the FS section? Do we want to sift through "FS: Tool" posts when we're looking for car parts? Its not just a localized thing. If we allow one thread to run (although alltracman has good stuff to sell), everyone will have a tool to sell to make some extra cash. This is a make/model specific forum, not ebay.

I would be interested to hear Coomer's take on this.

Please keep this relaxed, it isn't a bitch thread, I'm trying to sort out what I see as an issue with the interpretation of a certain rule. smile.gif

QUOTE (snapshotgt @ Jul 11, 2008 - 10:24 PM) *
The reason i closed your thread was because of this rule under the OT stickies:

QUOTE (Coomer @ Nov 14, 2005 - 8:08 PM) *
3. For sale posts are not allowed in this forum. If you want to sell something not related to the sixth generation Celica, you will need to do it elsewhere, and not on this site.

I totally understand that. smile.gif
This thread wasn't intended as a "why was my thread closed", but as a "hey can we do this" thread.

Regarding the Mustang 70mm TB and other universal parts, i would refer to the buying & selling rules found in the sticky:

QUOTE (Coomer @ Dec 16, 2002 - 1:20 AM) *
3. Please post things relating ONLY to sixth gen. Celicas in this forum. Universal parts(such as 52mm gauges, stereo equipment, etc.) are alright, as long as it will fit in the sixth gen. Celica.

To me that would apply to my tools as well. Both of the tools are DIRECTLY applicable to the 6th gen, and are relatively common tools that would be used on them. As someone already stated, I'm not trying to sell a set of standard wrenches, or a fuel line tool for a Ford.

IMO this is directly applicable to the site.
I don't see there being that many tool FS posts [there aren't on any other Celica forum I've been on, even MR2OC doesn't have many in a much larger site with a special tool section...], and even if there were, why is that bad? You need tools to put the parts you buy on; if I or someone else has one better/cheaper than you can normally get locally, what's the issue?

I know I have a personal interest in this, but if someone is selling that 70MM TB that Itchy B wants for his RMR? intake manifold, or those AN fittings Shannon needs for her 5SFTE setup, or that 3" 304 SS exhaust piping Manny needs for his car, you have to "sift" through all those, yet my tools [and potentially others] are just as applicable and able to help someone modify, maintain or repair their 6GC.
