I have come into a bit of money to help get me out of debt - and I'll still have enough left over to finally do my 3SGTE engine swap! YAY!!!
Now there are plenty of places in Canada to source a 3STGE from, but some of the pictures and specs are throwing me off... My biggest question right now is WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR? ie. uncut wiring harness, how hard is it to find an ECU if its not included? etc etc I have my heart set on the 3rd GEN 3SGTE (94-99) Will the engine in this picture go into my 6th Gen? (I've read the sticky that Coomer made but all the pictures are bunk) I only ask because from what I can tell - the intake wouldn't work... ![]() And if any of you canucks out there have the hook-ups... let me know your recommendations or businesses I should stay away from, ESPECIALLY YOU EAST-COASTER's. The chances of me ordering an engine from down east is pretty good... so yea, any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys! That is an MR2 3sgte with Side mount intercooler. (is in the passengerside rear fender)
you definatly want to source a 3sgte from a celica, either st185 or st205. The mr2 wont come with a top mount intercooler, and the alternator is also mounted in a "wacky" location. Which requires a custom replacement bracket to work in a celica. The biggest suggestion is to get a clip, or half cut. They usually have 95% of what u need, because it is the whole front end of the car. This post has been edited by devilsden97: Aug 1, 2008 - 12:57 PM -------------------- ![]() Kawi Love |
