Plug's, wires, and fuel filter solved my problem. Options

well,i bought Chinaman's celica two weeks ago, and it's just been running worse and worse since i got it. rough idle, poor acceleration, just horrible engine performance all around. friday night it threw the Check Engine light and later it would barely move. i found myself literally "flooring" it to get moving at all. so today i decided to borrow a friends tools, change my plugs, wires, and fuel filter and ....Voila! problems solved. runs great now. very strong, no hesitation, no bogging down, smooth idle too! And No more Check Engine Light.

I used NGK wires, and NGK Laser platinum plugs, and a Napa (Wixx) Fuel Filter.
tomorrow i will hopefully change the cap,rotor,pcv valve, valve cover gasket with a friend, along with the CV shaft (never done that).

Exactly why I had to drop my price and you ended up outbidding me. I figured that's all it was. Steven is a very nice guy and very up front with info on that car. Problem was he didn't do much/if anything to maintain it. I'd say you got a few more items to clear and the car will be like new drivetrain wise.
As for that CV replacement we were talking about, I don't know many shops on your side of town but I do know one over this way that the owner/head mechanic is very honest and very good. His mechanics are also very knowledgeable and he is constantly overseeing their work. They consistantly underbid everyone else as well. It's called Premier Auto on Senate and 290 [in the shadow of beltway 8 so a quick jump and one toll for you]. Call em up and ask for an estimate.

How hard is it to replace the fuel filter? I'd possibly like to do mine depending on what it takes.

Not hard at all. Make sure you get new crush washers and be prepared to put some very heavy torque on those fittings - If they haven't been changed out before they can be very difficult to remove. That's about it. It's located under the intake just in front of the Brake Master Cylinder BTW.
