 carbon fiber hood., should i paint it or restore it? |

i posted a topic about a carbon fiber hood i bought off of a fellow 6gc member. to be exact it was the VIS oem style hood. i got it for $80.
 should i paint it red to match my car, or refinish it. there are some really deep scratches that go down to the carbon fiber layer. i was told i could sand it all the way down and refinish it or smooth it out and paint it. i'm not sure if i want the carbon fiber look. the cops eye up cars like that and all of my lady friends tell me my car looks dum with a black carbon fiber hood. so any suggestions are welcomed. i just want the best way to make my hood look good. thanks.

yeah thanks guys. my friend works at a dealership. he is gonna work on it for me tomorrow. i'm gonna stay carbon fiber finish. thanks for the input.
