Well, a month ago tomorrow I lost my car. FINALLY got the insurance company to make a decision an approve work to be done on my car, was told by the mechanic that he could have the car done in 2-3 days.

Well, once he starts work, he tells me it'll be 5 days. 5 days pass... he needs 3 more days, but it'll definitely be done. But it's not... just preping to paint today, come back tomorrow at 5.

4:28 today (tuesday) I get a call telling me that they just realized I need a new radiator, but good news is, they called the insurance company and they approved it and they have one on the way and will definitely have the car done sometime tomorrow (wed).

WTF? The company that did the appraisal didn't even open the hood b/c there was no mention about needing a new radiator. I knew it needed a new radiator b/c I saw all the fluid come out @ the wreck site. And you could see it simply by looking through the bottom of the front bumper.

But I told him from day 1 about this... and he never realized it the whole time he re-did the whole front end?!

Ugh... I'm just hoping I get my car back. Drove it for 12 days total... frown.gif

well some mechanics tell you it might take 1 day then say its 3 simply cause they don't do there job right...a mechanic fist has to check the car and try to find everything that is wrong with they car after the talk to the customer and ask them whats wrong with the car... if any of you ever bring your car to a mechanic and he or she tells you it's going to take X amount of time to fix the car when then never even looked at it go somewhere else...

and as for dealerships they take so long car of the first come first sericed thing... most dealerships have there like 5 mechanic that look over the cars and find the problems... then the other mechanic fix what ever is wrong..so if you come in with breaks that need to get done an ther are 10 cars ahead of you then thats going to be like a 10 hour wait for something so simple just cause 10 cars are ahead of you and the way the line works..

yeah, but i had an appointment and dropped my car off at 6:30 am before the were even open. got it back at 6pm

yea but they might have had overnight cars or car from the used car dearlership... just remeber evertime you take you car to a dealership to have anything done your going to have to wait and wait and wait and wait and wait.
