So when I got my car, there already was an aftermarket Pioneer head unit installed with a lidded pocket underneath it. With the Pioneer installed, it didn't have a problem with letting the face fold down to let me insert or eject a CD, but with my new Alpine CDA-9857, the trim panel around the radio kinda sits on the faceplate and won't allow it to open. It did the same with the CDA-9855 I have but would still allow the motorized face to open every once in a while. I'm not too concerned about the CD part since I have an iPod cable now, but it just bugs me that it does this, so I might have to shave the panel around the radio down a bit. Did anyone else have this problem? Is it just a matter of design for the radios? What installation kits do you guys have?
