So when I got my car, there already was an aftermarket Pioneer head unit installed with a lidded pocket underneath it. With the Pioneer installed, it didn't have a problem with letting the face fold down to let me insert or eject a CD, but with my new Alpine CDA-9857, the trim panel around the radio kinda sits on the faceplate and won't allow it to open. It did the same with the CDA-9855 I have but would still allow the motorized face to open every once in a while. I'm not too concerned about the CD part since I have an iPod cable now, but it just bugs me that it does this, so I might have to shave the panel around the radio down a bit. Did anyone else have this problem? Is it just a matter of design for the radios? What installation kits do you guys have?

I have a Kenwood excelon (x789 I think it is?) that also has a motorized face. My deck doesn't sit flush with the trim tho so it doesn't get stuck. For example, when the face is on, it sticks out past the trim, if you take it off the deck itself is flush with the trim. So basically the deck sticks out a little, i can take a pic if you like....
