thread cleaned.
jim, you must have been WASTED last night. ![]() ![]() D, the ATS cam gears are pretty sweet, and were EASY to install. we'll see how well they work here at the dyno in a few weeks. we REALLY wanted to get the 205 at least in the bay yesterday, but, with the clutch disk issue we ran into, i just couldnt see taking the chance. the problem is that it seems to me like the springs are "pushing" theyre way out of the disk, the little metal tabs that keep the springs in place are quite deformed, and some of them are actually breaking off in little peices on the ends. shannon, post the pics i had you take yesterday of the disk, maybe some of the guys will have an opinion on how that disk looks. from what ive read it seems like this is a somewhat "common" issue with the spec disks, which is kind of a bummer. like i told jim "its up to you if you want to reuse it, but do you really want to take the chance?" IMO its just not worth it. theyre sending pics over to spec, to see what they have to say about it, i could very well just be being overly carefull, but i figure its always better to be on the safe side when it comes to that kind of stuff. so, we just worked on getting all the 205 work buttoned up so that they can bring the motor and car up to me to finish up for them. its just much easier doing the work up here, where i have everything i need at hand. j & j and crew got alot done with the space and tools they had available, but with Jenn getting ready to have the baby, we just cant be traveling down to nj for the next couple weekends to give the guys a hand wrapping things up, so they are bringing the car and the motors up to me, and we'll be finishing things up here. jim and i worked up a deal for the 2nd gen motor that was in the car, which i will be getting in exchange for the work we will be doing to his car and shannons 5sfte powered monster over the next few months. look for a few more additions to the infamous "shannons 3s swap nightmare" post i made a while back about this setup once i get the motor here and start tearing into that thing. what a mess. im just glad that will be over for jim, this 3rd gen setup is gonna be much better in every way. and, its a WRC edition motor to boot, which is cool, even if it is just for bragging rights!!
