Haven't been on here much lately, but I thought I'd post an update.
About an hour ago, somebody or most likely a group of people threw a large rock (bout the size of a basketball) into the rear hatch glass of a Hatchback Celica which I'm building for my sister. The rear glass is completely shattered but luckily none of the parts inside were stolen. The rock landed on top of an ST205 front bumper core support and smashed a 96+ front bumper I had in the hatch. It's too heavy to lift the rock out with all the glass in the way right now. Already filed a police report. My convertible Celica had a smaller rock next to it (about the size of a softball). The rock appeared to had been thrown at the window in attempt to break it, but they did not succeed. The window is chipped up, but not cracked. The Convertible top is barely damaged, the rock seemed to have just knicked it a bit. The Celicas were parked out on the street in front of my house both right next to each other. The main question that was brought up by the officer was if I had any enemies up here. I don't believe I have any enemies up here. I actually don't believe I have many enemies at all. The rocks that were thrown at my car were not from around the house. They were rocks that seemed to be part of a sidewalk curb or construction. I drive responsibly everywhere I go, I don't speed or drive recklessly. All I do up here is go to work and come home. I don't hang out with certain people or dress any certain way where people would relate me with other people. I'm kind of having a hard time understanding why my cars were targeted. I live at a dead end street on the top of a hill. Whoever had done this must have known where my cars where at and even bothered to carry rocks from another location just to throw at and into my cars. I always thought in a situation like this, I would feel depressed, or full of revenge. But I'm really not either of those. I actually feel somewhat fortunate that my cars are still here and not stolen, and nothing inside was stolen. None of the exspensive parts were damaged much. There's really nothing I could have done to avoid this either, so I'm not really beating myself up taking blame for anything. All I can do is get the glass repaired and move on with my life. I can take pictures of the damage tomorrow when the sun is out. This post has been edited by MaskedMan: Oct 26, 2008 - 7:46 PM -------------------- |

Hey Derrick, I just read this. I am sorry to hear about that man. Amazing how you can keep you cool, and I am sure whoever did it has something coming their way naturally. If it happened to me, I would beat the $#!T out of anyone who even looked at me funny who drove or walked by after that. I check on my car with little sleep. I never go anywhere that I cannot keep an eye on my car. That is partially because I haven't an alarm system yet. When I do, it better reach more than 100ft though.
I know it is silly to be obsessive over a car, but that car is everything to me. I would probably kill someone or at least cut their Achilles tendons so they may never walk again if I caught them messing with my car. I would do it for even just being in my yard near it if they have a rep for messing with people's cars. So that way I won't go to prison for murder. Knock on wood, people have hit my car with their door, but I was able to fix that no problem. To the mofo who damages my GT4 exterior or projector headlights though? Aye! Pobrecito! That's all I got to say. Anyways, I am sorry that happened to you man. Hope you win a scratcher or something so it isn't a big expense to you. I am sure working for Toyota has it's benefits though. Oh hey! I am going to school now and we do not (or I was told no longer) have the T20 program (unless it is different in locations, it is the program that is sponsored for new auto techs to get in with Toyota) due to loss of funding (just my friggin luck). Do you know how long it takes for a dealership to get back to you after applying with them? Ah, it is not important. I am really sorry that happened to you though man. You are a good guy. -------------------- 91 MR2 Turbo SW20, 92 MR2 Turbo SW20, 95 Celica GT ST204
