Hi guys, just a quick question..(again). i was looking at some 'lumpy cams' from 'FENSPORT TUNING'. for anybody who has uprated their cams on an st202, or has knowledge of it,... are they worth the money?. what are the power gains on a pretty much standard celi? and is there anything i should buy in conjuction to get the best out the cams (remapped ecu or something) many thanks in advance,. if this has been covered in a previous thread, i oppologise.. my knowlege of HP on the celica is that any NA power upgrade you do you'll only get 70%-80% unless you get a new ECU to unlock the additional power.
cams, you easly can get 272deg, but watch your lift after i think its 10mm you'll need springs, but other than cams you'll need cam gears and a tune. EDIT LINK ah here's the information I was thinking of previously: http://www.turbomr2.com/MR2/Reference/TVIS/TVIS.htm 191.23 Nm / 4800 rpm (almost 100Nm a litre) & the switch over is 5100rpm or 5200rpm, also I'm not 100% sure about this but during the switch over it advances timing, by a ECM (electric control module) or ECU?, I like your idea about taking 2 dyno runs (open and closed) and finally (thanks again to KoreanJoey from CelicaTech) The Ultimate 3S-GE Tuning Guide This post has been edited by Rusty: Oct 16, 2008 - 12:35 AM -------------------- |

Where's my props? Who do you think gave that to Joey??? j/k.....I'm really glad to see that people are using that article. When I first read it I about fell out of my chair......I couldn't believe someone took the time to write that up. I hope 3SGE tuners continue to utilize that article. So far I haven't found anyhting better. On another note......Rusty, what do you know about using an E56 tranny with a built up 3SGE??? Tht'a the tranny that was delivered with my 3S. Most people use S54s, but the E series were more heavy deaty and all came with LSD. So....I guess I'm looking for someone to tell me whay I should or should not use the E56. Gt any pointers? |
