after this winter im gunna have about 3g's to play with for my car.. I was thinking of going with the redtop beams engine..simply for the fact not many have done it. and i heard its a pretty strong reliable engine, but i kno the 3sgte produces more hp.. which would be harder if u know? and which would u suggest for me thanx..

guess I should have been more specific. The beams does not have high torque figures and the peak torque is high at 6000 RPM with 159 ft-lbs.
A 2nd gen JDM 3sgte has more torque and is available much lower in the revs: 225 ft-lbs @ 3200 RPM. Gives you a much more streetable engine. Even though it only has 15 more horses, this would give you a much faster car than a beams, assuming you can get traction. Don't get me wrong, I would blow my load every time I opened the hood if I had a BEAMS under there, but I don't believe it is worth the cash. |
