I found a Celica with 110K miles on it in my area for only 2,000 dollars (Hatchback, 5-speed). However, it says that it needs a new motor. I have yet to call the guy. But I was wondering how much a new engine would cost and how hard it would be to install back into the Celica engine bay. Because I got to thinking, if it would be cheaper just to buy the car and swap in the engine. It would probably also give me more satisfaction knowing I had a part in getting it back on the road.
Any comments? Advice? |

Why not just get a 3sgte?
You can most likley geta 5sfe from a jusk yard for $500 and spend another $200 or so before its done. A st185 clip can be had for $1800 or so and should have all the parts you need for the swap, you would prolly spend another $500 on parts and all. -Bryan- -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe
