Haven't been on here much lately, but I thought I'd post an update.
About an hour ago, somebody or most likely a group of people threw a large rock (bout the size of a basketball) into the rear hatch glass of a Hatchback Celica which I'm building for my sister. The rear glass is completely shattered but luckily none of the parts inside were stolen. The rock landed on top of an ST205 front bumper core support and smashed a 96+ front bumper I had in the hatch. It's too heavy to lift the rock out with all the glass in the way right now. Already filed a police report. My convertible Celica had a smaller rock next to it (about the size of a softball). The rock appeared to had been thrown at the window in attempt to break it, but they did not succeed. The window is chipped up, but not cracked. The Convertible top is barely damaged, the rock seemed to have just knicked it a bit. The Celicas were parked out on the street in front of my house both right next to each other. The main question that was brought up by the officer was if I had any enemies up here. I don't believe I have any enemies up here. I actually don't believe I have many enemies at all. The rocks that were thrown at my car were not from around the house. They were rocks that seemed to be part of a sidewalk curb or construction. I drive responsibly everywhere I go, I don't speed or drive recklessly. All I do up here is go to work and come home. I don't hang out with certain people or dress any certain way where people would relate me with other people. I'm kind of having a hard time understanding why my cars were targeted. I live at a dead end street on the top of a hill. Whoever had done this must have known where my cars where at and even bothered to carry rocks from another location just to throw at and into my cars. I always thought in a situation like this, I would feel depressed, or full of revenge. But I'm really not either of those. I actually feel somewhat fortunate that my cars are still here and not stolen, and nothing inside was stolen. None of the exspensive parts were damaged much. There's really nothing I could have done to avoid this either, so I'm not really beating myself up taking blame for anything. All I can do is get the glass repaired and move on with my life. I can take pictures of the damage tomorrow when the sun is out. This post has been edited by MaskedMan: Oct 26, 2008 - 7:46 PM -------------------- |

Well I was hoping for this update to be a "Yay I got my window fixed!" update, but it's not. Car was attacked again.
This time it was a pumpkin in the windshield. So now I have 2 windows broken on 1 Celica. That windshield hasn't even been cleaned yet. I had it installed right before I moved up here, and haven't had a chance to detail the car, and then BAM! Couldn't they have broken something that needed replacement already, and not something that had just been replaced haha. I walked outside this morning to find a pumpkin sitting in front of my Convertible. I'm thinking "oh such Halloween spirit Celica! Good work!" But sad news is it had broken the C-One lip off the car. Not cool. So as I'm unbolting the rest of the lip so I can drive to work (which btw made me late for work). I'm thinking aww man... who would go attack the C-one lip, that's one of my favorite parts on the car. Anyways, so I go to work, thinking to myself it's not that big of a deal, nothing that can't be fixed. So I work work work, then come home and as I'm looking at my Hatchback Celica I see cracks all along the windshield, and I'm thinking to myself... no way... not again... I take a closer look, and yep, shattered and they bent the wiper blade. Those hooligans! I came inside and spoke with my landlord, and he said that he noticed the windshield this morning, but I was still sleeping. He asked me if I wanted to file a police report again, and I said to just forget it, it's not going to make a difference anyways. I'm not 100% sure that it was the pumpkin that did the damage, but it was the only "weapon" in the area and large enough to shatter the windshield like that. I definitely remember NOT parking my car next to a pumpking last night haha. The pumpkin was of decent size, it was the size of a Basketball. It was strong enough not to break apart. I always thought pumpkins smashed upon impact. Oh well, jokes on them though. Because I'm going to use the pumpkin and carve it into something cool. Muhaha. Saved me a trip to a pumpkin patch. Happy Halloween/Birthday to me ![]() -------------------- |
