OK so heres the deal I just got a 95 ST , I dont have to worrk about emissions were I live Im still decideing what do do with my car. I want to make only around 180hp at the crank, but im looking to have as little custom fab work and also trying to stay away from jdm parts that would be hard to get( possiblilydo a 7age na bulid?). I would most likely be dropping the trans and engine at the same time( I have to to a rebulid on the trans). ANY info or imput would be cool, especially aftermarket or piggy back ecu help.

yeah but didnt the USDM AW11's come with 4A-GZE's
or am i wrong and they only came with 4A-GE's

yes, but some brackets and minor tweaks are needed, remember the MR2 has the engine on the back and the celi on front, the easiest way to do a 4agze swap is to get a 4agze from a levin and those are a little tough to get and usually pricier than MR2 4agze's

ok on that point then you could be the Levin/corolla gze and use aw11 parts corrects or the more differences then id like to know cause if so id like to build something like this.
sorry didnt mean to threadjack

the actual engine components are the same, the differences are on the outside of the engine, like alternator bracket, AC compressor location, the tranny has to be converted to FWD ( not a big deal, but has to be done ) the shifter linkage from the MR2 may not work so it'd have to be swapped for a levin one, and I think one of the water necks for a sensor has to be swapped as well. none of these is hard to do, is just getting the parts, so if you have to go through all these to get levin parts to make the MR2 swap work, or pay for custom parts, why not just get a levin engine to start off ?

again, some 7afe parts may solve these issues, but some will need custom work, also it all depends on the tranny you wanna use.

Thats why if you would use the same block of the 7afe u wouldnt have to worry about tranny or shift linakge problems just the intake and exhaust, and maybe a pully or 2
