Don't build your car to whoop Hondas. Build your car to be the best it can be and to show what you can do with your own two hands [Plus some help from some friends of course] - build your car to be an extension of yourself.
towards that end - I love both the AE86 and the 6GC so if I was in your case I'd probably keep what I already have and build from there.
