I found this while surfing the web. It is a 4.3MB PDF for those with slow connections it may take a while.
It was scanned in from some magazine, basically these guys run a pretty thorough test on 18 brands of fully synthetic and synthetic blends of motor oil. The results really surprised me!!!! That's funny - when we test oils here we do so under accelerated running, exageratedly harsh temps and conditions and for extremely long periods of time.
BTW - Royal Purple is known in the refinery industry to eat engine seals [The same brands and type seals used on automobile engine BTW]. It is the only oil we void our warranties for. Just FYI Thats very interesting Death, i have heard so many mixed opinions on royal purple. Most the time people are like "YEHH i swear by the stuff!" and the other set of people say what you did, it eats seals. I read that royal purple claims it "polishes" the internals, is that what causes it to munch up the seals?
