So, lately I've noticed that on the highway my front area of the car vibrates. I am sure it's between the two front tires or at those locations b/c it vibrates up there. It's very sporadic and I can't tell when it will happen again. I have checked my tie rods (don't know if I can tell if they are broke or not, but physical damages or cracks I can't see), I don't think it's my wheel bearings, and my stabilzer bar looks to be in tact. I have also checked my CV rods/CV boots and don't see any physical damage (again, don't know for sure). I took my wheels off and put them back on to see if I didn't tighten them or something. I can't find anything wrong.
These are the times it starts up: -when decelerating from 70mph (just letting go of the pedal) -when I'm going down hills on the highway (I had cruise control on, but it's like the above--maintains speed) -when I accelerate quickly from 70-75/80mph -at higher speeds (at 5th gear) Any help would be appreciated. If you can PM me that would be great too. Is this a symptom that Celica's have? I figured the 99 wouldn't have any problems. (if anyone knows a site that lists all of the known things that go wrong with the 6GC, I would appreciate that too) Thanks. |

Ok, here's the scoop...
I got a replacement driver's side CV Axle from Advance Auto Parts--Axle company was GSP (not sure who the F they are). I really wanted an OEM but the Stealership would ask for $400+, so had no option. In any case, after I had purchased that axle, I found a site online that has genuine OEM toyota parts for mad cheap. So, tell them I, Jeff I., sent you and ask for your order to JOE on online chat order. He said, the more we get, the better discounts we would have. SO, I stongly incourage you to order from him. www.toyautoparts.com go into the chat mode and ask for Joe. I think saying my name Jeff I. or maybe even 6gc (so everyone on here can get the discount) would get the discount. Just try to remind him about the guy trying to get the cv axle set for his celica Jeff. If he don't remember, just say many people will call in from 6gc.net and order so discount ok, down to business. I got the older axle off EXCEPT the inner joint!! How the F do ya pull that SOB out?? I've done almost everything I could...Any help on this part and I'm good to go. Oh wait, I couldn't get the tie rod joint off, but worked around it..not I have to screw it tight so as to pull back the half ass pull I did trying to get it off with not success. I'll update as I have taken pictures and will see if my vibrating stops. This post has been edited by Betta-J: Dec 1, 2008 - 8:22 PM |
